“EATSLEEPHILLSREPEAT “- is a collaboration with the Artists Paul Letchworth and Matthew Leach of fireaterletterpress https://www.fireater.co.uk/ during lockdown. This original artwork is a visual celebration of the joy and despair of the walking / cycling up/down hills in Belvoir and Grantham and a fund raising opportunity for the NHS workers whom we owe so much to.
Whilst clapping on one Thursday 8pm, Paul decided that he could do something better than just a clap for the NHS on his own doorstep and decided to find a way to raise money instead, using creative skills. As a keen Witham Wheeler cyclist and Belvoir Tri club triathlete Paul has been cycling up and down the undulations around the beautiful Vale of Belvoir and around Grantham for over 10 years and developed an idea to celebrate the “hills”. He started by exploring digital ways in which he could compose the data – elevation / gradient length of climb using strava and OS maps.
Paul showed the designs to Artist and Printmaker Matthew Leach and asked ” what can you do with these?” – Well, Matthew got going on interpreting the designs and produced the beautiful A2 print……. The print is produced using expert hand-made traditional techniques by Matthew, using hand inking and letter pressing having debossed features. It is printed onto thick high quality Fabriano Unica paper with high quality oil-based inks and is A2 in scale. Matthew Leach works out of Saltby and works with custom commissions.
These special edition 30 x A2 prints ( 20 two colour & 10 black) are Priced at £55.00 Unframed. For purchasing the prints go to: https://www.fireater.co.uk/store/belvoir-hills-poster
